Hi, I’m Tania Skoufaris
Registered Nurse (RN BScN) for 27+ years
Certified TEAM CBT Psychotherapist
Founder, Compassionate Care
My Story
Becoming a mother changes everything. Alongside the joy, there can be moments of doubt, fear, and a deep sense of being overwhelmed. I know this because I’ve been there myself.
When my son began struggling with anxiety, I poured all of my energy into helping him. In the process, I realised that I needed support too. I wanted to become a role model for my children. To show them that it’s possible to live with joy, confidence, and freedom. That’s what inspired me to start Compassionate Care Psychotherapy: to help others in Ontario find the same relief and fulfilment in their lives.
My ‘Why’
I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. I also know the deep longing for relief. For life to feel lighter, calmer, and full of possibility again.
Helping people move from pain and self-doubt toward joy and confidence is the most rewarding part of what I do. My goal is simple: to walk alongside you with empathy and support, and to give you the tools you need to create lasting change.
“The most rewarding part of this journey is hearing a client say: “I feel lighter.”
My Approach
I use a warm, client-centred approach rooted in TEAM-CBT, which helps you understand how your thoughts shape your feelings. Together, we’ll gently untangle those thoughts and practice new ways of thinking that create positive, long-lasting change.
Our sessions are supportive and collaborative. You’ll learn practical strategies you can apply in daily life, and sometimes I’ll invite you to do simple “homework” between sessions to strengthen your progress.
Above all, my approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to you.
Outside of Work
When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and our dogs, swimming, walking in nature, or enjoying a quiet moment at the beach.
I love good food, movies, and meeting new people, and I bring that same curiosity and openness into my work as a therapist.
I look forward to meeting you.
A gentle invitation
If you’re struggling right now, please know:
You don’t have to carry it all alone.
I would be honoured to walk alongside you, to listen without judgment, and to help you find the tools you need to feel more at peace.
Because motherhood is hard… but finding support shouldn’t be.
